What is the Ethiopian church?

The Ethiopian church group, a vibrant assembly of Ethiopian and Eritrean believers, resonates deeply with the essence found in 1 John 1. Led by the passionate and dedicated Ethiopian pastor, Dagne, this community gathers at The Fellowship International building on the Round Rock campus of The Fellowship Church. With a shared vision of fellowship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, they come together to cultivate a rich tapestry of faith, fostering spiritual closeness and embracing the diversity of their heritage. Through their gatherings and under Pastor Dagne's guidance, they aspire to share this sense of divine fellowship, welcoming all to experience the beauty of unity in faith.

Pastor Dagne believes that Acts 1:8 and Matthew 28:19–20 embody the Great Commission—God’s call for all believers to share the gospel. He has devoted his life to preaching Christ “near, near-far, and far,” which for him has meant ministry in the United States, Africa, and the Middle East. Through this calling, he has planted multiple churches across these regions.

Dagne has served as a church planter since 2000. In 2009, he joined The Fellowship Church in Round Rock, Texas, and since then has been instrumental in establishing churches in San Antonio, Austin, Africa, and the Middle East.

He is married to Tinbit, and together they have a son, Nahom.

Dagne completed his undergraduate studies at Addis Abeba Bible College. He went on to pursue graduate work at Lipscomb University in Austin, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and later earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Hardin-Simmons University.
